Connectors are named, workspace-scoped MCP credentials and connection records. They are easier to manage than one-off copied keys because you can see, rotate, and revoke them from Dokki.
When to use a connector
Use a connector for a long-lived client, a teammate's external AI tool, an automation service, or an agent that needs a stable workspace endpoint.
Use a quick personal key for temporary local experimentation.
Workspace scope
A connector belongs to a workspace. It should be granted only the access needed for that workspace and job. If a client needs access to another workspace, create a separate connector there.
Agent connections
Agents can use MCP connections to reach external tool servers. Keep agent instructions and connector permissions aligned: the narrower the tool access, the easier it is to review what an agent can do.
Revocation
Revoke a connector when a client is retired, a credential was exposed, or an automation no longer needs access. Revocation stops future MCP calls using that credential.
