Private resources are hidden from the broader workspace unless someone has direct access.
The feature applies to documents and other resources, even though older UI labels may still say documents in a few places.
What private means
A private resource does not appear in the normal sidebar, search results, Copilot context, or MCP results for workspace members who do not have access.
Owners, direct invitees, and approved requesters can open it. Workspace admins may be able to administer access depending on the workspace and organization policy.
Requesting access
If someone opens a private link without access, Dokki shows a request access screen. The request notifies the people who can approve it. They can approve or deny from the notification center.
Sharing a private resource
Open sharing controls and add people directly. You can grant view, comment, or edit access. Changing general access away from private makes the resource visible to the selected broader audience.
Private versus archived
Private controls who can see one resource. Archive controls whether an entire workspace is active. Archived workspaces are hidden and background jobs stop; private resources can still live inside active workspaces.
