Inline AI
Two flavors of in-line assistance:
Selection-based AI
Highlight text → an AI ✨ action appears in the floating toolbar. Pick from:
Improve writing — fix grammar, tighten the prose.
Make shorter / longer
Change tone — friendly, formal, persuasive, etc.
Translate — auto-detects target language.
Summarize
Custom prompt — type any instruction and Copilot rewrites the selection.
The result is shown as a diff. Accept, reject, or run it again.
Tab completion
Pause briefly while writing and Copilot suggests a continuation in ghost text, based on the surrounding text.
Tab to accept
Esc to dismiss
Keep typing to ignore
Tab-completion is great for finishing a sentence you've started, or filling in the next bullet in a structured list.
Mentions
Type @ to mention something:
@<doc name>— link to another doc in your workspace@<person>— mention a workspace member (sends them a notification)@<date>— date picker; inserts a formatted date
Mentions are first-class — they update if the doc is renamed and surface in search.
