Archive Workspaces

Archive a workspace when the project is inactive but should not be deleted.

What archive does

Archived workspaces are hidden from the normal workspace switcher and most day-to-day surfaces. Their resources are excluded from normal search, recent lists, mentions, agents, and background processing.

Dokki also quiets background jobs for archived workspaces, including embeddings, file indexing, sync jobs, schedules, and automations.

What archive does not do

Archive is not deletion. The workspace and its resources remain recoverable. It is also not the same as Trash, which removes individual resources from an active workspace.

Who can archive

Workspace admins can archive and restore normal workspaces. Private personal workspaces are protected and cannot be archived.

Restoring

Open the archived workspaces screen, choose the workspace, and restore it. Restoring brings it back to normal workspace lists and allows background jobs to resume.

When to use it

Use archive for completed projects, old client spaces, experiments you may revisit, or team workspaces that should stay available for reference without cluttering active work.
