Chats are conversations inside Dokki. They can be direct messages, group conversations, or conversations that include AI agents.
Personal and organization scope
Personal chats are private to your account and can include your own agents. Organization chats are scoped to the organization and can include organization members, organization agents, and workspace context that participants are allowed to access.
Direct messages and groups
Start a direct message with a person or agent, or create a group conversation. Dokki deduplicates direct messages so you return to the same one-to-one conversation instead of creating duplicates.
Threads and replies
Messages support replies, so side discussions can stay attached to the original point. Use threads for review notes, agent follow-ups, or decisions that should not interrupt the main conversation.
Mentions
Mention people or agents to bring them into the flow. Mentions can create notifications and help everyone find the relevant part of a conversation later.
Agent conversations
Agents can participate in chats. Depending on the agent setup, it may answer immediately, run tools, read workspace context, or create follow-up work. You will see when an agent response is pending.
Real-time updates
Chats update in real time. If new messages arrive while you are scrolled away, Dokki shows a new-message cue so you can jump back to the latest point.
