This page defines the words Dokki uses in its interface and in this help center. Use it when a label on screen, or a sentence on another page, names something you have not met yet.
It covers product vocabulary only. Pricing, limits, and setup each live on their own page, and this page does not repeat them.
Core objects
Term | What it means | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
Organization | The company-level container. It groups people and workspaces, and it carries organization-wide roles and billing. | |
Workspace | The unit that scopes collaboration, permissions, storage, AI usage, agents, and publishing. Most of your work happens inside one workspace. | |
Resource | Anything you create or upload in a workspace. There are four kinds: document, table, artifact, file. | |
Document | A written page for prose, notes, and plans. | |
Table | A typed, structured resource: rows and columns of work such as tasks, inventories, or trackers. | |
Artifact | An interactive visual resource, such as a dashboard, diagram, or calculator. | |
File | An uploaded original, such as a PDF, an image, or a deck, kept as it was uploaded. | |
View | A layout for the same table rows: Table, Kanban, Gantt, or Calendar. A view changes how rows are shown, not which rows exist; a saved view can also keep your own filters and sort. |
AI
Term | What it means | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
Copilot | The AI panel inside a workspace, for asking questions, creating content, and returning to earlier conversations. | |
Agent | A reusable AI teammate with its own instructions, skills, workspace access, and optional schedules. Use one for work that repeats. | |
Deep search | When a question needs an answer assembled from several sources rather than one matching page. |
Getting content in
Term | What it means | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
Import | A one-time copy of content into a workspace. | |
Migration | Moving your content out of another tool and into Dokki, including deciding what should come across. | |
Source | The outside account an import reads from, such as a Drive account or a site. |
Access and sharing
Term | What it means | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
Role | What a person can do in a workspace. The three workspace roles are Viewer, Editor, and Admin. | |
Private resource | A resource hidden from the wider workspace unless someone has direct access or admin authority. | |
Workspace access key | A key a workspace admin creates, locked to one workspace. Use one when a machine or an outside tool needs access without a person signing in. | |
Connect | The area where a workspace connects outside tools and accounts. It holds three kinds of connections; the current labels are on the page. | |
App | An outside account such as Gmail, GitHub, or Jira, connected so you and your agents can work in it. |
Publishing
Term | What it means | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
Publish | To make selected resources readable by anyone at a public address. Nothing is public until you publish it. | |
Public site | The published copy of the resources you chose. It is a snapshot: editing the workspace later does not change it until you publish again. |
Keeping things tidy
Term | What it means | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
Version history | The list of earlier saved states of a resource, so you can see what changed and restore one. | |
Trash | Where a deleted resource goes first, so an accidental delete is recoverable. | |
Tag | A label that classifies related work across folders. | |
Pin | A shortcut to a resource or a single table row, kept where a group can find it. |
When a word is not here
If a page uses a word this table does not define, the page is wrong, not you. Tell us which page and which word, and we will define it here or rewrite the sentence.
