Learn the four regions of the screen once, and everything after that is easier to find. This page is a map, not a tutorial: read it once, then keep Dokki open beside it.
The four regions
Region | What it is for |
|---|---|
Left navigation | Switches between areas: Workspace, Chat, Tasks, Agents, Automations, Meetings, Connect, Extensions. |
Sidebar | The second column for whichever area you are in. In Workspace it holds search, the workspace switcher and the resource tree. |
Main area | The home, document, table, artifact or site you have open. |
AI panel | Talk to Dokki with the content still in view. Closed until you open it. |
Left navigation, sidebar, main area, and the AI panel on the right.
Figures on this page were captured from the Chinese build: the layout is the same in the English interface, and every label in the tables below is written in its English form.
Left navigation
Hover an icon to see its name.
Item | What you do there |
|---|---|
Workspace | The home board and the resource tree. Writing, tables and files all start here. |
Chat | Direct and group conversations with people, and channels with Agents in them. |
Tasks | Work waiting on you: approvals, questions an Agent needs answered, items a colleague assigned. |
Agents | Create and manage the Agents working in this workspace. |
Automations | Build and run repeatable flows. |
Meetings | Record a meeting and turn the transcript into a document. |
Connect | Attach Dokki to AI tools, apps you already use, and chat apps. |
Extensions | Migration, Site, and the relationship map. |
At the bottom of the column sit notifications, help, and your avatar. The avatar opens the account menu, where you switch between your personal space and each organization, or open account settings.
If you see fewer items than this table lists, either your organization switched a feature off in Organization settings, or you are a Guest in this workspace. A Guest sees Workspace only.
Sidebar and resource tree
In Workspace, the sidebar runs from top to bottom:
Search and the workspace switcher at the top, the resource tree below.
Search — searches the current scope.
Workspace switcher — shows the workspace name and your role. Open it to search or switch workspaces, to Add workspace, or to see archived workspaces.
Members and settings icons — admins only; a personal space has no members page.
Resource tree — the folders, documents, tables and other resources in this workspace.
The top row of the tree is Workspace. Selecting it returns you to the home board. That row carries two controls: view options (tree or grouped, plus sorting, and grouping by type, tags or creator), and +, whose tooltip reads Create resource.
Hovering a folder shows its own +. Anything you create there lands inside that folder.
What the create menu offers
Section | Contains |
|---|---|
New | Document, Table, Slide, Diagram, Canvas, Mind map, Form |
More | Video project, Design; Code, which holds Artifact, App, Skill and Code project; Work items; From template… |
Record & import | Upload & import, which holds Upload file, Upload folder, Import mind map…, and Import… |
Last row | Folder |
The menu behind +, grouped by what you are trying to add.
A document opens straight away under the title Untitled; a table opens as Untitled table. Rename either one in place.
Two entries cause most of the confusion, because the same idea has two names. Canvas in the New section is the free-form whiteboard. The Artifact editor — the interactive page, dashboard or calculator — lives under More › Code › Artifact. Uploaded originals such as PDFs and images are not resources you create in this menu; they arrive through Record & import › Upload & import.
Only workspace Admins and Editors see +. A Can view member cannot create anything and needs an admin to change the role.
AI panel
A Dokki avatar sits at the top right of the main area. Hovering it shows the name of your Agent; selecting it opens the panel on the right, and selecting it again closes it. The panel is closed by default and starts on your conversation with Dokki.
Hovering the avatar shows the Agent's name; selecting it opens the panel.
Every area except Chat can open the panel, so you can read a document and ask about it without leaving the page.
Notifications and help
Notifications — the bell at the bottom of the left navigation. A count appears while something is unread; open it to read, mark everything read, or see the full list.
Attention — when something needs a decision from you, an entry with a dot appears just above the bell. It is absent when nothing is waiting.
Help — the ? at the bottom of the left navigation opens the help centre, where you choose the kind of help you need, write a title and description, attach a screenshot if it explains the problem faster, and submit. The ticket goes to support@dokki.one together with the page you were on and your account email. The same dialog is reachable from the avatar menu.
On a phone
The left navigation moves to the bottom of the screen and keeps Workspace, Chat and Agents; everything else sits under More. Notifications move to the top right.
If something looks different
No sidebar. Select the Dokki mark at the top left of the main area to open it; select it again to close it and reclaim the width.
No + button. You are a Can view member or a Guest in this workspace.
Fewer navigation items than listed. An organization admin switched a feature off, or you are a Guest.
The same labels in a Chinese interface
If your interface is set to Chinese, the items above read: Workspace 工作区, Chat 聊天, Tasks 待办, Agents Agents, Automations 自动化, Meetings 会议录音, Connect 连接, Extensions 扩展, Create resource 创建资源, New 新建, More 更多, Record & import 录制与导入.
Last verified: 2026-10-28. Labels were checked against the product build described in the documentation audit of 2026-10-20 and the help centre review of 2026-10-21. Two entry points — the attention indicator and the help-centre dialog — are described by what they do rather than by their button text, because their English labels could not be confirmed.
