What to expect from documents

A Feishu document arrives as its text. Every word is there and the whole document is searchable in Dokki immediately — but expect it to arrive as plain paragraphs. Headings, tables, callouts, and inline styling do not come across as themselves.

This is the least structured of Dokki's imports, so plan around it. For documents whose value is what they say — notes, decisions, write-ups — importing directly is fine, and you can re-apply headings afterwards in a minute. For documents whose value is how they are laid out, export the document from Feishu and import the exported file instead: the file keeps the original layout, stays searchable, and gives you something faithful to refer back to.

Import from Feishu or Lark

The documents land wherever you start from, so begin at the folder you want them in.

  1. In the sidebar, point at the folder you want them to land in and select the + beside it. To import into the top level of the workspace, use the + at the top of the sidebar instead.

  2. Choose Import….

  3. Under Source, choose Feishu / Lark, then enter your app credentials or pick a connection someone has already set up. This connector uses an enterprise app rather than a personal sign-in, so a workspace admin usually sets it up once for the team, under Manage sources.

  4. Under What to bring in, choose the documents or folders you want.

  5. Under After importing, choose Copy once for a migration, or Keep in sync if Feishu stays the system of record.

  6. The bottom of the dialog shows where the content will land. Check it, then select Import.

Feishu and Lark are the same product in different regions. Select the region matching your account when you set up the connection — credentials from one will not work against the other.

Try one document first

Import one document that represents how your team actually writes, and read it beside the original. Because formatting fidelity is the main variable here, that single comparison decides whether to import documents directly or export them from Feishu first.

Who can do this

You need permission to edit the destination Dokki workspace. Setting up the connection requires app credentials from your Feishu or Lark administrator; a workspace admin normally manages that connection for everyone.

If something fails

  • Confirm the app credentials are still valid and that the app has permission to read the documents.

  • Check you selected the correct region for your account.

  • Open a failed item's error details before retrying.
